Police received notice of three people stranded when notified by the U.S. Coast Guard of a distress call around 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, said the Nassau County Police.
First responders from the Village of Hempstead and Point Lookout at Lido Beach Fire Department responded and rescued the three, reportedly a man and two boys, within a short time, police said.
All were wearing life jackets and none were injured.
